Signs of precognition on the intuitive vision board is a joy to perceive and a remarkable phenomenon we can’t fully understand.  The vision board has the ability to reveal things through the images before they actually occur.  We sometimes forget we have this ability until something unusual happens and we think to ourselves – déjà vu.

It is possible to cultivate precognition given the right conditions and making an Intuitive Vision Board (IVB) is one such method.

An IVB can provide a glimpse into your future and awaken you to the possibilities that lie ahead. Once viewed remotely, you are more likely to recognise these as they occur rather than allow them to fly by because you have not attuned to their possibility.

In neuroscience terms the IVB is an emergent process.  This means the psychic insights which appear on your board are more likely to materialise if you actively engage with them.  If you sit back, passively expecting the revelations to be delivered to you on a plate, you might miss them.

Intuitive guide

Exploring the content of your IVB with an experienced intuitive guide is the best way to engage with it.  Left to your own devices it’s tempting to over-analyse the images based on information you know already and jump to conclusions prematurely.  By slowing it down and giving voice to what it is you can see, feel and imagine when contemplating the images, will permit the more subtle messages contained on the board to be expressed and integrated.

When I am working with a client, my role is to loosen the soil around the images, encouraging light and air to reach these numinous signs, while resisting the temptation to over-water.  It requires me to listen deeply for the creative energy that is channelling through you and wanting to find form but can remain lost to view when you are too close to it.

Even though I am the relative expert, it’s still not my place to influence the outcome but to support you in probing the deeper dimensions to your creation. This means helping you to translate the patterns and metaphors into symbolic language you can understand and means something to you.

Behind the scenes

Meanwhile, those silent messengers will continue to work away quietly over time, magnetising opportunities to you in a way that defies logic and goading you in the appropriate direction until you have arrived there.

It may be many months before you see evidence of this, which might frustrate a person who prefers instant results.  This is how the creative mind works, slowly and undercover, because it has to synthesise a lot of acausal data that can at first appear random and illogical to the intellect.

As a Somatic Arts Psychotherapy practitioner, and trained both as a Feng Shui consultant and Reiki Master, I’m very familiar with psychological content and non-physical energy.  Even so, your perspective as the creator always has primacy over mine.  My role is to listen intuitively and tease the meaning out of you during the coaching session to allow it to sit with you and unfold further during the weeks ahead.

Timing

Checking in with an intuitive guide within a week or so of making your board is ideal.  If you jump in too soon there is a danger you’ll nip the flower in the bud and so prevent it from blossoming according to its own natural timing. If you leave it to long the energy of the board can escape you.

However, a few people chose to do this many moons later and it often transpires there’s a good reason for this.  Perhaps there is something about the content of their board that is unsettling, albeit in a positive way, and they need longer to integrate this information before they can speak to me about it.

It was eight months before I heard from Maureen, for example.  The reason for her pregnant pause can be summed up by the polar bear appearing centre stage on her board and the word with it: adoption.  Adoption was something both she and her husband had seriously considered years ago, then promptly forgotten about.  Yet here it was, raising its head again.  And because she’d created her IVB from her heart and not her head, Maureen was smart enough not to dismiss it a second time round.

One year later (and 18 months after she’d made her IVB) they adopted a six-year-old boy and were thrilled to bits to have him.  And to complete the rosy picture, they added a puppy to the family, which had also appeared in her collage. Before making an IVB, Maureen in her 40s had enjoyed a good career, but was confused and wondering what to do next with her life.  During this creative process it became very clear what that should be as she received the guidance she needed.

Pathfinder

My door is always open to IVB makers to take a further dive into the contents of their board.  As life events unfold, these further reflections can bring fresh meaning and nuances to your jigsaw of images.

This type of intuitive enquiry ventures beyond the realm of traditional coaching.  In fact I wouldn’t call it coaching at all.  It is more like pathfinding.
