Two women share there fascinating stories about the vision board success they had even during the Covid pandemic. Opportunities arose as predicted on their boards. They stayed attuned to their boards and followed the guidance given . And true to form, their vision boards delivered on their promise.

Black Lives Matter … Jane’s narrative

My business has doubled in size since making my IVB in January 2020 just before the pandemic took off.  Before then I was running my hypnotherapy business and struggling to make it grow.  I wasn’t sure which direction to go in next.  Three ways were indicated on my board and I pursued them all.  The board not only indicated the triumphs and struggles that lay ahead for me in 2020, it was a constant source of inspiration and helped me stay focused on what my heart was telling me to do, even in a Covid year.

The Black Lives Matter movement and social change featured on my intuitive vision board, months before there was any sign of black people reclaiming their power. For instance a strong, glamorous, black woman striding towards a church in Marseilles (which happened to be one of the main departure ports for the slave trade).

Intergenerational & cultural trauma

I’ve always been empathetic towards inter-generational racial and cultural trauma. I finished my training in Rewind Trauma Therapy shortly before making my vision board. My practice took off immediately and fascinatingly about a dozen clients have come through one black female friend, from a strong church community. She is also driving her business forward during Covid times and feels transformed by my Rewind Therapy.

Over the year, my client base has become much more diverse and included a number of powerful and extraordinary black female clients, and people of many different nationalities.

The chameleon at the black lady’s heels is a symbol of change and transformation. We’ve certainly seen huge transformation in our society with more to come. Not to mention my own personal transformation and the need to keep adapting to change.

Cowboys

Texas features on my vision board and was once an epicentre for the virus in the southern states, which seemed unlikely in the early days of the pandemic. I had lots of cowboys on my board and I wondered if the spikey cacti are the virus spikes?  It was Trump’s base and he was frantic to hold onto it but I can’t help noticing the black girl strides high over the cowboys with the native Americans dancing above them too.

My friend attended Mary’s workshop with me and had Harriet Tubman on her board. Harriet was born into slavery, escaped, and then played a key part in the underground railway that rescued slaves from the south. A further indication of things to come maybe?

A source of inspiration – Mary Fraser’s account

For tapping into the creative, intuitive part of you I’d definitely recommend Mary’s Intuitive Vision Board workshop, which I attended pre-Covid. Exploring creativity has been a great source of inspiration for me during the lockdowns and most welcome from a health and well-being perspective.

I have seen many changes to the way I work, play and exercise as a consequence. The board gave me the space to explore these and helped me to stay focused when my job was quiet due to the pandemic, giving me space to think about how I might work differently. My mindset has changed too and I am now tackling what seemed to be impossible before.

I made this particular board (and I’ve made a number of them with Mary before) in September 2019 long before the arrival of the Covid-19 pandemic.  I recall a relaxing morning facilitated by Mary Nondé, gathering the group together, preparing us for the visionary day ahead.

Upon completion, I viewed the board curiously, wondering what work/life changes might now unfold for me personally.  Life as we knew it was ‘normal’ then but everything was about to change 6 months later.

Octopussy

Within days of making this board, I was gifted with a beautiful drawing of an Octopus from my 3-year-old Spanish niece, not unlike the octopus on my board.

Poppies

The group of ladies, surrounded by poppies, represent the group of friends who rallied together to help me create my website for my children’s coaching project – Poppyfields Coaching.  This website that had lain dormant for months when I was too busy to work on it prior to lockdown. Perhaps one day we’ll celebrate together with Champagne in real time.  Meantime we enjoyed virtual cups of tea – both beverages featured on my board.

Apple bobbing

Prior to pandemic, my coaching children was face-to-face.  I had to be fast and flexible to switch to online coaching and it stretched me well outside my comfort zone. Both the children and I enjoy this style of coaching now and I’ve learnt to include more fun and interactive tools like the boy and the apple bobbing.

Cosy by the fire

Each year in Ireland on Nollaig na mBan, we celebrate Women’s Christmas (6 January). This year a talented group of female musicians used the opportunity to fundraise for their local hospice with the theme ‘Cosy by the fire’.  ‘Cosy by my fire’ featured on my board too and that’s where I sat to enjoy this concert, which has since prompted me to volunteer at my own local hospice to contribute my skills.

The weaving of threads

The image that intrigued me most was the wooden box and cotton reels. While I admire those who create beautiful pieces with a needle and thread, it’s not my talent.  But I do love needleworks of art, hand-crafted pieces of any kind, and craft fairs.

Writing is the craft I’m developing. I love to write and find it therapeutic.  While contemplating the sewing box and threads an idea has unfolded for me to bring creative people together online – and I’m now busy clearing space to create that project.

Mary Nondé has pioneered the Intuitive Vision Board since 2010 to help people envision possibilities they never knew existed. She is the author of ‘Awaken Your Intuitive Vision AVAILABLE ON AMAZON or from your local bookstore.
