Love in her life

Alima had everything going for her. All she needed was a man to share it with and this was the focus of the Feng Shui consultation.

Alima was ready for a committed love in her life.  She is a good-hearted person with a rewarding job and an elegant apartment in Marlow.  All that was missing was a man to share it with and that’s how she hoped my Feng Shui consultation would serve her.

Seeing photographs of her home ahead of my visit, I felt the feminine aspect of Alima was not being fully expressed, although her nurturing nature was evident in the abundance of healthy plants thriving under her care.  I was surprised and delighted when she appeared at the door in a red dress, looking very becoming.  Alima volunteered, without me asking, that this was a departure from her normal attire and she’d been drawn to wear a dress on this occasion.

Feng Shui appraisal

I smiled to myself since I’ve often observed that once a person commits to a Feng Shui appraisal, the magic of the process starts working immediately, aligning their energy in the direction in which they need to go.  I hoped Alima would continue to express the feminine aspect of her personality because it certainly suited her.

Before I begin a consultation I always have a lengthy conversation with my client, allowing them to range over whatever is on their mind about where they are, the aspirations they have and anything they believe is holding them back.  This allows me to build the biggest picture so I can recommend the most effective enhancements, bringing their home into alignment with their vision for the future.

Alima also mentioned an unrequited love affair with Edinburgh having visited a couple of times.  She was pondering whether this was the moment (turning 50) when she might experiment with living there since her post-Covid working arrangements allowed her to operate from home anywhere.

Here’s what’s transpired so far while her journey continues….

Love & Romance

“It was a pleasure to have Mary in my house.  Since then I can’t stop admiring the changes we made throughout, especially in the love areas.  It’s particularly noticeable in the lounge, which we totally rearranged and my bedroom too, which we enhanced. Both rooms look much more welcoming, comfortable, prettier and cosy – also more feminine and in harmony with me, using accessories I already had. I can’t stop noticing how much bigger and more open (in a nice way) the lounge feels having tried for years to change the energy there and failed.

“I placed a mirror at the top of the stairs to draw the energy up and ordered the canvas of two people hugging for the corridor running through the Ch’i centre of the home.  The two mandarin ducks have moved to the relationship area and two pink pillar candles placed in my bedroom where the ducks were, which look lovely.  I love spending time in both places now and was left with a warm feeling in my chest after Mary’s visit. And perhaps a little vulnerable. Both were new experiences”

Expressing her femininity

“I even started feeling and allowing myself to be more feminine and stopped hiding behind dark blue/navy colours and dressing in a formal way.  I’m wearing clothes that enhance my femininity and I am enjoying that a lot.  My heart feels calmer and I regularly catch myself saying: everything is ok, be calm, be patient and believe.

“As for my current love flame, I wrote to J again to rekindle the fire but I haven’t heard back from him yet. Somehow I do not feel desperate to know why or what is happening. (Trust me, in the past I would be suffering like crazy feeling rejected). This time though, I felt a little disappointment because I would not expect this from someone I thought I knew and sorry for the beautiful friendship we could have had.  But, I have trust in the Universe and in divine timing and I am sure we will have a conversation face-to-face when the moment is right.

“For now I need to look after myself, get strong and keep believing that love is at this very moment coming towards me.  My main intention with all the Feng Shui changes we did is to find a romantic, long-lasting, trustworthy love relationship. I am sure I will be back here sharing this with you very soon.  Thanks so much again, Mary.”

Edinburgh: the elegant solution

Since love was the top priority, we focused Feng Shui here first.  When working on the relationship corner (love and marriage according to the Feng Shui Bagua map), it’s good to remember that this will have a positive effect on the way you feel about yourself too.  As self-belief and self-esteem increase it can touch every area of your life.

In addition, by improving the area around Alima’s front door on the ground level, corresponding to the Helpful People/Travel sector, we also called in greater freedom of movement and connection for her – just what you need when you want to move house.

Alima reports

I was delighted to receive this report from Alima only three weeks after my visit ….

“It is interesting you asked me about Edinburgh, Mary, and the consideration of living there on a trial basis.  I did contact Find a Room to see if there was a suitable room I could rent.  Many people rejected my request to live with them because I need to work from home.  However, the day my Find a Room account was due to expire I came across an ad from Kate in Stockbridge (a place I love and have stayed a few times whilst visiting Edinburgh). The room she had was amazing, a bit expensive, but I’d already decided I would give myself this opportunity for a few months as my 50th birthday present.

“To cut a long story short, we spoke at length for 30 minutes and hit in off.  Sadly, she had to give the room to a lady who would be going out to work.  But, the interesting thing was Kate said: “I don’t know you personally but there is something I like about you so I will ask around my friends to see if they have a room or know anyone who has.”  And after a few days she introduced me to Clea who had a room for me.  She doesn’t mind that I work from home because she is going back to the office.  It’s also half the price of Kate’s room! “Clea is about my age, has 2 cats and is also a teacher.  She seems to have lots of energy and her house expresses this through her choice of colours.  Not overwhelming but nice.  I will have the single room that used to be her daughter’s, now at university.  While it has a single bed the room is decorated in PINK, the colour of love.  Lol.  I’ll be sure to use Feng Shui in there too.

“In case you’re wondering what am I going to do with my place in Marlow. Well, my friend’s husband was desperately looking for an office to rent, but the ones he found were either not available or too expensive. So, now he will rent my dining table for not very much but it will help me. And he will look after my plants too and my home will be happy.  Priceless.”

Green fingers

“I must mention too that I am already searching for volunteer jobs at the weekends.  Knowing my love of plants, I have sent off an application to the Royal Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh for the period of October. I feel like giving some of my time as a volunteer. It gives me joy to think I can do something for others in a place I have not explored yet.

“Mary, you see? Things are working out for me to go and try.  I am a bit scared, but also excited at the opportunity and would like to make a vision board with you when I’m settled in Edinburgh, probably online and 1-2-1 – unless I can get a group together for you in Edinburgh!  Lots of love and thank you for making my house in Marlow so much lighter, spacious and harmonious.  When and if I find my permanent place in Edinburgh you will do the Feng Shui there for me too.”

Thank you Alima for you willingness to share your Feng Shui journey with us and how your life is unfolding subsequently.  I’m sure many of my readers will gain hope and inspiration from your willingness and boldness in taking a stand for yourself and your life.
